OrangeLife Magazine began in 2010, and has truly become a one-of-a-kind publication that highlights and celebrates life within the Town of Orange.
My Involvement in this magazine started in their Winter Issue - 2014, creating ads for various business. Summer of 2015 my participation grew not only ads, but also professional photography to highlight articles within the magazine. In 2020 my role had increased tremendously to not only ad creation and photography, but also production and prepress review of this 40-page biannual magazine. Supplying print ready pdfs and compressed pdfs for web viewing on their website.

When I took over the production for the last 10 issues, I had to create a new template in In-Design that mimicked the banding and color theme of the previous issues. Minor changes to the design were done to enhance the reader's experience.
Client submitted word files from several different authors. In order to keep the page count consistent, I edited the images to fit and at times suggested edits to the copy. Pages of this document evolve with each proof as client summitted additional advertising. Each publication produces approximately 6 drafts before finals are created.
Some of the Images were supplied by the client. I was the photographer for the balance of photography. All the cover Images above are examples. Interior photos were taken in the last few weeks prior to production, each image is intracule to the content of the stories. The supplied images were edited using Photoshop.
Once the content is approved I preflight the document for press, making sure image quality, bleeds and colors are correct and the whole document is able to be produced in cymk. After many quality checks it's uploaded to the printer. This magazine gets mailed to every resident and business in the town of Orange. Once a blueline is approved an Acrobat pdf file is created and compressed for on-line viewing on the OEDC website.
